MELOS Vertical Lens Bench

The Measuring Equipment for Lenses and Optical Systems (MELOS) is designed to be a multi-purpose, vertical lens bench for making measurements of effective focal length, wedge, radius of curvature and centering.

The MELOS 530 is used for focal length, back focal length, radii and wedge angles which can be tested quickly and easily. Improvement to the mechanics and optics of the instrument make it possible to measure radius and back focal length from ±5 mm to ±530 mm. The measuring range can be decreased or increased on special request.

We offer 8 MELOS combinations for a variety of applications.

Combination 1: Positive focal length, back focal length
Combination 2: Positive and negative focal length and back focal length
Combination 3: Positive and negative focal lengths, back focal lengths, and concave and convex radii
Combination 4: Positive and negative focal lengths, back focal lengths, concave and convex radii, and wedge angles
Combination 5: Positive and negative focal lengths, back focal lengths, concave and convex radii, wedge angles, and surface form deviations
Combination 6: Concave and convex radii
Combination 7: Wedge angles
Combination 8: Surface form deviations
