Visual
Autocollimators
Visual autocollimators measure the angle of optically flat (1/4
wave or better), reflective surfaces in arc seconds by viewing a
graduated reticle through an eyepiece. The longer the focal length
of the autocollimator, the greater the angular resolution and the
smaller the field of view.
These autocollimators are modular in design and have accessories
that allow higher resolution than that listed above. For example,
the 500mm autocollimator fitted with a digital encoder on a micrometer
driven reticle has angular resolution of 0.2 arc sec.
These autocollimators are fixed-focus at infinity, however we have
Moeller-Wedel adjustable focus autocollimators available as well.
A bright, halogen light source makes it possible to measure the angle
of target surfaces as small as 1 mm diameter.
A TV camera can be installed on the eyepiece for ease of viewing.
A complete line of autocollimator mounts, mirrors and penta-prisms
and achromats is available for specific applications.
